Refining Chiropractic Through Neurology and Technique
Advanced chiropractic education focused on neurology, proprioception, and evidence-based adjusting techniques.
This site is designed for practicing chiropractors seeking to refine technique through a deeper understanding of neurology, proprioception, and functional anatomy. By integrating science with hands-on skill, practitioners can deliver more precise, durable outcomes for the communities they serve.
The art and science of chiropractic combines anatomy and physiology to the technique utilized to treat our community.
The content on this site is geared towards practicing chiropractors with an emphasis on neurology and what we can apply to the patient community.
Proprioception is more sensitive than the pain model used by many patients to drive their respective spinal health. Chiropractic has been a leader in supporting the postural and proprioceptive needs for a healthy spine and body.
The art of chiropractic is as varied as those who practice and teach technique. Keeping one’s skills effective and sharp is an important asset to the years spent in practice. Certain special interests in a particular scope of chiropractic (i.e. sports chiropractic or family care) and the practitioner’s body composition help dictate the direction a practitioner may pursue in technique.
A novel approach to treating headaches, migraines & vertigo are featured.
Hypothesis: There is a confluence of neurons related to pain, proprioception and sympathetic regulation in the upper back/ ribs and the occipital region. Breaking the aberrant muscle patterning can gain great outcomes when combined with postural, shoulder and sometimes eye movement exercises.
See abstract for case series relevant to the case series.
This is the culminating conversation to the outlined 12-hour proprioception seminar.
I have been looking at adjusting through the lens of a chiropractic neurologist. It is probably not unusual for a practitioner to refine their respective approaches to the varied conditions that may present to the office for care.
The confluence of the neural mechanisms that involve occipital and upper trapezius regions anatomy can relate to pain, proprioception and sympathetic aspects that can contribute to migraines and vertigo.
This confluence can, in turn, be the driver of migraines, vertigo and a certain subset of headaches.
Headache, Migraine & Vertigo Clinical Applications
Strong clinical outcomes have been observed using specific adjusting protocols for migraines, headaches, and vertigo. This section explores how and why these conditions develop, when adjusting should be considered, and how to integrate targeted exercise and home care to improve patient response and durability of results.
Advanced Adjusting Techniques & Neurological Integration
Seminars include live demonstrations of standing rib adjustments, seated cervical and occipital techniques adapted to supine with pisiform contact, and both upper and lower extremity adjusting. The neurological relevance of extremity mechanics to cervical and lumbar presentations is addressed, along with the evaluation and management of upper and lower mononeuropathies related to spinal and extremity misalignment.
Practical, Monday-Morning Implementation
All material is designed for immediate clinical use. Emphasis is placed on practical decision-making, efficient application, and hands-on training. Smaller group instruction allows office staff and providers to gain confidence through guided practice, with opportunities for deeper skill development through private adjusting instruction.
